Nadia Benyahya (Madrid, 1984) is a contemporary visual artist specialized in figurative oil painting. Her work explores the female figure in close connection with nature, where light becomes an essential element in the atmosphere and perception of each scene.

Benyahya has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Spain, including her participation in Art Madrid with Arma Gallery. Her artistic career also includes mural interventions and site-specific projects developed across Europe, the United States and Southeast Asia.

Alongside her studio practice, she has contributed to film productions through the art department, creating original artwork for film sets. Her work is held in private collections.

STATEMENT

My practice is rooted in painting as a way of exploring the relationship between human beings and the natural world. I am interested in the human figure not as portraiture, but as a place where emotion, light and lived experience become visible.

In my work nature is represented as the space where our relationship with ourselves and with the world can be re-established. Light is the essential language of my practice. It shapes atmosphere, defines presence and becomes the vehicle through which each painting communicates beyond narrative.

At the core of my practice is the belief that our relationship with the natural world is inseparable from our relationship with ourselves. My work seeks to create images capable of making that connection visible.
